One of the best things about autumn and coffee is that it’s warm enough during the day to enjoy chilled coffee drinks without feeling too cold, but it’s also cool enough to enjoy heated coffee beverages while warming your hands around the cup.

On that note, today, I want to introduce you to some of the best unique coffee recipes that will spoil you with options regarding how you want to enjoy your coffee this autumn season or any other time of the year. There are hot and cold coffee arrangements here and in many different variations– with milk, without milk, recipes that use flavor-packed ingredients, and some even with alcohol for those extra special occasions! Ingredients

  • Cold-brew coffee 300 ml (The Ratio is 50g coffee ground to 300ml water)
  • 1 Grapefruit
  • 1 Kiwi fruit
  • Fresh Mint leaves

Preparation

  1. Add water and cold brew coffee in the cold brew coffee maker jug and leave for 12 hours to let the coffee brew slowly.
  2. Take a large glass pitcher and add the fruits cut into wedges or slices, the cold brew coffee, fresh mint leaves, and a good number of ice cubes.

  • AeroPress coffee 70ml (20g light roasted coffee brewed by AeroPress method using 70ml hot water)
  • One whole banana (Well-ripe bananas are preferable as it will make the drink mellow, sweet, and creamy)
  • Soy milk 45ml
  • Honey 10ml
  • Six whole coffee beans

Preparation

  1. Brew 70ml of coffee using your AeroPress coffee maker
  2. Slice the banana. Leave some for decoration in the end. Mix the rest of the bananas, soy milk, honey, AeroPress coffee, and 3-4 ice cubes in a blender.
  3. Pour the blended frappe into a nice tall glass. Decorate with banana slices and sprinkle some coffee powder on top.

  • Cold-brew coffee 100ml
  • Two medium-sized oranges cut into 1/8 size
  • Ginger 3 slices
  • Sugar syrup 10ml
  • Balsamic vinegar five drops (Preferably a mild and mellow one)
  • Club soda 45ml
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • Black pepper

Preparation

  1. Make cold brew coffee
  2. Use a burner or a toaster to brown the orange slices and save one piece for garnishing.
  3. Add the grilled orange slices and the ginger into a glass and mash them lightly.
  4. Add sugar syrup, balsamic vinegar, club soda, and ice.
  5. Garnish the top with freshly ground black pepper, rosemary, and a slice of browned orange.

Preparation

  1. Crack 10g of coffee beans lightly and soak them in a jar of 70ml bourbon for at least 12 hours. This is your homemade coffee bitter!
  2. Prepare fresh lemon and orange peels.
  3. Add ice, lemon peels, orange peels, and bourbon in a glass
  4. Place a sugar cube soaked in the homemade coffee bitter on top of the glass.
  5. Serve with dried fruits such as raisins.

  • Iced coffee 200ml (readymade black ice coffee/Cold brew coffee/chilled pour-over coffee)
  • Vanilla ice-cream 35g (nicely scooped out in a round shape)
  • Liquid coffee creamer (or whipped cream)

Preparation

  1. Take a tall transparent glass and pour chilled iced coffee on ice cubes
  2. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top
  3. Drizzle liquid coffee creamer on top, and it’s done!

Tapioca pearls are addictively chewy translucent balls made from cassava root starch. When added to drinks, they add an interesting texture and make the drink more beautiful. If you like bubble tea – a milk tea containing tapioca balls, you would love this tapioca soy latte too.

Ingredients (For two servings)

  • Tapioca pearls 30g (diameter of each tapioca pearl is about 3mm, but if you use a bigger size, increase the boiling time)
  • Chilled coffee 300ml
  • Soy milk 300ml
  • Maple syrup 2 Tsp

Preparation

  1. Take plenty of water in a pan and put it on the stove. Add the tapioca pearls when the water starts to boil and lower the heat to a minimum. Boil at low heat for about 20 minutes. Then drain the water using a colander and cool the tapioca under running tap water.
  2. When the core of the tapioca pearls turn transparent, and they are cold enough, add it to a glass.
  3. Add coffee, soy milk, and maple syrup.

Coffee Warabi Mochi (わらび餅コーヒー) – Drinkable Japanese coffee jelly with a twist

This brilliant recipe brings together two traditional Japanese sweets into one delicious drink with a biteable texture. Japanese coffee jelly is a popular Japanese dessert usually made using agar or gelatine. Today, we will make it using potato starch, and hence we call it Warabi mochi, a famous Japanese summer sweet made by using potato or bracken starch.

Ingredients

  • Coffee 400ml (brewed or made using instant coffee)
  • Potato starch 8 Tbsp
  • Granulated sugar 5Tbsp (according to your preferred sweetness)

Preparation

  1. Mix the potato starch and granulated sugar in a pan and whisk them together very well.
  2. Add the coffee little by little while whisking together the coffee, starch, and sugar.
  3. When mixed well, turn the heat on to medium heat and continue whisking using a wooden ladle or a spoon.
  4. When it turns thick and hard, turn the heat to low and mix for another 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  5. When it becomes sticky and thickened, pour it into a steel or glass rectangular mold and cool it in the fridge.
  6. When it has settled completely and chilled, take it out, cut it into bite-sized or preferred sizes and place it in a glass.
  7. Pour cold milk, cream, or both, and let the coffee warabi-mochi bites float beautifully inside the glass. Serve with a spoon on the side to scoop out the coffee warabi-mochi from the drink!

Ingredients

  • Freshly ground coffee 20g
  • Hot water 200ml
  • Star anise x 1/5 piece
  • Cardamom x 3
  • Cloves x 3
  • Cinnamon stick x 1/5 piece
  • Nutmeg powder (as preferred)

Preparation

  1. Use a mortar and pestle to crush and grind the spices of your choice.
  2. Add the ground spices and your coffee to the dripper. We recommend using the Clever coffee dripper as it allows the coffee and spice flavors to be extracted completely, submerging them in hot water. Extract the coffee using 200ml of hot water.
  3. Once the coffee brewing process is complete, serve it in a glass cup with a piece of cinnamon stick.

Ingredients

  • Soy milk (100ml)
  • Coffee 50ml (Brewed on the stronger side)
  • Smooth black sesame paste 1Tsp
  • Sugar (According to your preference)

Preparation

  1. Prepare hot coffee (Can be brewed using your favorite method or made using instant coffee)
  2. Warm the milk on the stove or in a microwave, then froth it if you have a milk frothing machine
  3. Add the preferred amount of sugar to the coffee, stir to mix the sugar well, and pour into a mug cup.
  4. Add frothed soy milk to the coffee.
  5. Add the black sesame paste and stir well and serve with a spoon!

  1. Use a French press to brew your coffee.
  2. Add the coffee, apple juice, and maple syrup to a cup and float the butter on top.
  3. Serve with a few slices of apple and a cinnamon stick.
